While everyone agrees that our relationship with the company could always be better the reality is that we do have a reasonable relationship with the company. This translates into many advantages by converting AAPAG into an In-House Union (perhaps called AANPA?).
To name some:
“Fly it and grieve it!” How many pilots have heard this working at other carriers? Then, a grievance is filed only to be heard at some distant future time, if at all.
“What an In-House Union won’t do?”
It won’t be political. NONE of your dues money will go to fund political candidates or political positions you may disagree with. Your dues money is for the Allegiant Air pilot only.
Nor will you dues money will go toward exorbitant salaries or union officer vacations or “working retreats”.
